"Ikaw at Ako Panalo sa Malusog na Bato" Kidney Month Celebration 2012


By the virtue of Presidential Decree No. 184 issued by the then President Fidel V. Ramos in May 1993, every June is declared as the National Kidney Month and is now being celebrated all over the country.

The National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI), is the lead agency that highly supports the nationwide celebration of this very important event. The NKTI is highly determined in promoting awareness and prevention of kidney diseases among our countrymen.
In line with this, various activities are being prepared for the nationwide celebration to include outreach programs, free clinics, team building activities and mass media information campaigns. This year’s theme is "Ikaw at AKo Panalo sa Malusog na Bato".
The Alay Lakad and Thanksgiving Mass which will serve as the opening ceremony of the National Kidney month will be held at Charito Planas Garden, Quezon City Circle exactly at 5:30 am, June 1, 2012. The Alay Lakad will be participated in by various nearby specialty centers like Philippine Heart Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, Philippine Children’s Medical Center, East Avenue Medical Center, Veterans Memorial Medical Center, V. Luna General Hospital-Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center, Quirino Memorial Medical Center and some dialysis centers within the metro.
