Tissue Typing Laboratory is primarily involved in Pre-transplant Histocompatibility work up for bone marrow and solid organ transplantation which include HLA Class I and II typing of recipient and donors, ABO typing, Tissue crossmatching to detect donor specific anti- HLA antibodies, and anti-HLA antibody assay (Panel Reactive Antibody) to determine degree of HLA allosensitization of transplant candidates.
