The laboratory performs DNA-Amplification assays utilizing the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Target DNA or gene is amplified for easy detection and quantification for purposes of disease diagnosis and monitoring response to treatment. Currently, the laboratory performs Hepatitis B & C viral detection and viral load assays. Majority of assays in the laboratory involves Molecular HLA Typing for class I & II loci for donors & recipients for organ transplantation.
