The Microbiology Laboratory deals with the isolation and identification of aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms with sensitivity testing on all significant isolates. The section offers special examinations such as fungal culture and identification; leptospiral culture and agglutination; serological test for Cryptococcus neoformans and Salmonella typhi. Staining procedures for Coccidia, Nocardia and Pneumocystis carinii are also available.
