The Histopathology Laboratory provides correct diagnosis of surgical, cytology and autopsy specimens to help the clinicians in therapeutic decision making. Studies on renal biopsies with special stains and immuno-fluorescence studies are special features of the section.

Interpretation of fine needle aspiration biopsies obtained by ultrasound on CT scan are also done as well as immunofluorescence studies of renal biopsies.

Specimens are processed to determine the nature of disease, the structural and functional change of the cells, tissues and organs caused by the disease.
