The Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology (APCP) Division is an integral part of the Department of Laboratory Medicine. As part of the Institute healthcare team, it is open 24 hours daily, seven days a week regardless of holidays, inclement weather emergencies, and public declared closure days.

The APCP Division is a full-service laboratory with broad array of routine and special diagnostic tests in Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microscopy, Microbiology, Histopathology, Virology and Special Chemistry. It contributes an essential element toward the attainment of the goals of the Department and the Institute concerning patient service, education/training and research. It has the following main functions:

 
  • To provide patient-centered, high quality, cost effective and comprehensive Anatomic and Clinical Pathology services specifically to the program of transplantation. To provide vital laboratory test and expertise not readily available in other laboratories in the Philippines and other medical centers that have linkage with NKTI.
  • To deliver quality education and training in the fundamentals of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Laboratory Medicine to pathologists, medical technologists, medical students, residents, fellows and colleagues.
  • To support research programs for the discovery of new knowledge relevant to the practice of Laboratory Medicine.
