| In addition to reconstruction of blood vessel, the vascular surgery service is responsible for the medical care of patients with wide variety of vascular disorders including vasospastic diseases, hypercoagulable syndromes, large artery vasculitis, and other nonsurgical ischemic syndromes. Outpatients services are available and has been instrumental in centralizing the growing referral practice of complex vascular problems, coordinating multi-disciplinary management and treatment of patients’ vascular disease and co-morbid conditions, and providing longitudinal follow-up. |

To serve the needs of vascular disease patients, state-of-the art, non-invasive examinations are directed by the vascular service at the Cardiac and Non-Invasive Vascular Laboratory and are staffed with vascular nurse technologists and ultrasonographers. These individuals perform variety of tests based on Doppler ultrasound plethysmography and duplex ultrasonography with color imaging. Nearly 1,000 studies are performed yearly in the laboratory, which is fully compliant with the standards set by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories. |

Admissions in the Service Wards include pre-KT patients and those post-KY patients with medical and/or surgical morbidities.

DIALYSIS ACCESS |

| The Division has the task of providing both peritoneal (Tenckoff Catheter insertion) and hemodialysis access such as Internal Jugular, Subclavian, Femoral, and Scribner Catheter insertion. Permanent access is provided by AV Fistula creation with or without Goretex graft interposition and Perm Cath. |

RENAL TRANSPLANT |
| |
Renal transplants are being advocated as the primary treatment for End-Stage Renal Disease. Patients should undergo pre-KT work-ups with their donors for at least a month before clearance for surgery.
