Steps and Scheduling: |
| |
If your doctor requires you to have an x-ray, the first step is to go the Department of Radiological Sciences reception area (Window 1) and show your doctor’s request. You will be given a charge slip for which you will bring to the cashier located nearby. After payment, a receipt will be handed to you which you will present back to the reception area (Window 2). A printed request form will be given to you. You will now proceed to x-ray room 1 where a technologist will assist you in the procedure. Patients are accepted in a first-come, first-served basis.
Some procedures will require patient preparation (See patient preparations). For inquiries and scheduling, you may call the following numbers:

Cut-off time: |
| |
Routine x-ray can be done anytime. The department is open to serve you 24 hrs. daily from Mondays to Sundays. Special procedures which require preparation, however, are scheduled.

| |
Patient Preparation: |
| |
Routine x-ray requires little or no preparation. The patient is required to remove all metallic objects such as jewelry before the examination since it may obscure the image to be studied.
Before entering the radiation room, it is very important to inform the technologist if your pregnant or suspected to be pregnant since radiation can be harmful to the baby. If your pregnant, we may forgo the examination or take necessary precautions.

Results: |
| |
X-ray films are developed within minutes. However, official results will be released after 24 hrs for both routine and special procedures. This will allow radiologists to review and interpret the films as well as give time to the releasing section to process the results. You will then show the result to your doctor who will explain the results to you. Releasing Section is open Mondays to Fridays at 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturdays at 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN.
In cases whom immediate intervention is necessary, a provisional result will be provided immediately after the examination. Provisional results can also be made available upon your attending doctor’s request.
