VASCULAR ULTRASOUND SECTION |
| |
As early as the 1980’s, the department continues to lead the way in the field of vascular ultrasound imaging not only within the institution but throughout the country. Manned by experienced and competent vascular radiologists, it is among the most sought after section in the department not only for patient referral but also for health professional seeking for training.
All ultrasound studies are doctor-performed. This is the section’s greatest strength since vascular ultrasound imaging is highly operator dependent. If not done properly, many pathologies may be missed and normal variants maybe mistaken for an abnormality. And to ensure accuracy of results, there are always two doctors who will evaluate and assess the patient. This unparalleled quality standard measure assures you of fast and reliable results.

Equipment:
Siemens SONOLINE Elegra Imaging System
|
| |
This Siemens Sonoline Elegra Imaging System is a diagnostic ultrasound scanner that combines a variety of real time imaging modes in upgradeable platform. The system utilizes linear array, curved array and phased array tranducers with a 2 to 10 MHz imaging range capability.
The imaging system is suitable for a wide range of applications. It is designed to provide diagnostic tools for 2-D mode examinations in radiology, internal medicine, gynecology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and vascular imaging.
The doppler provides pulsed doppler modes for extracranial and arterial/venous peripheral vascular imaging. Doppler also combines downshift frequency and high PRF doppler with 2-D mode plus doppler mode, and with M-mode plus doppler mode.
It has a cine review and real time triplex imaging (2-D, doppler, and color). It also has a Siescape which allows the creation of a 2-D mode ultrasound image with an extended filed of view while scanning in real time.
