CT SCAN SECTION
 

The section is manned by well-trained personnel. Dedicated CT scan radiologic technologists, who underwent special training for this modality, perform the CT procedures. Our radiologists are always present during the examination, making sure that quality images are obtained, and later on, interpreted to arrive at a diagnosis.

 

EQUIPMENT: Siemens SOMATOM SPIRAL CT Scanner

 

This machine is a further development of the Somatom AR devices made by Siemens. Its used is to generate tomographic images of the organs of a patient in a single breath hold for diagnostic as well as for interventional purposes. The tomographic images generated by this system can be viewed on a monitor, processed, filmed and archived.

General CT Scan procedures
Special procedures: CT stonogram, quantitative CT bone mineral densitometry, virtual colonoscopy, CT angiography (thoracic and abdominal aorta, renal hepatic, cerebral, and extremities)
Interventional CT procedures: CT-guided chest and abdominal biopsies

Walk-in patients are accepted on a first come, first served basis.

 

STEPS UPON ARRIVING AT THE HOSPITAL

 
  1. Registration and Printing of the Charge Slip. Present your request from your attending doctor at Window 1, Department of Radiological Sciences Reception Area, Annex 1 Bldg.)
  2. Payment of Charges. Present charge slip and payment to Cashier- there is one located near the CT Scan Section at Annex 1 Bldg. and another at the NKTI Main Bldg.
  3. Printing of Official Request Form. Present official receipt from cashier at Window 2, Department of Radiological Sciences Reception Area, Annex 1 Bldg.
  4. Examination. Present official request form to CT Scan Section and wait for your turn to be called in for the examination.
  5. Keep officical receipt to claim your result.

RELEASING OF RESULT

 

Your exam will be reviewed by the radiologists who specialized in this type of imaging. A formal written report will be available on the following day at the releasing section except those done on Saturdays which will be released on the next day, Monday.

Releasing Section is open Mondays to Fridays at 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturdays at 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN.

For in-patients, E.R. patients and for those whom immediate intervention is necessary, provisional results will be provided immediately after the examination.
