CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS

 

For Registered Nurses

 
1. Post-Graduate Course in Clinical Nursing Practice – 4 months

Refresher course for new nursing graduates and non-practicing nurses who aspire to seek employment. Its objective is to enhance the basic skills of the participant.

2. Post-Graduate Course in Dialysis Management – 6 months

Specialty course on dialysis (both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis) for nurses who had at least 6 months of bedside experience.

3. Post-Graduate Course In Renal Nursing – 1 year

Specialty course on dialysis and renal transplantation for nurses who had at least 6 months of bedside experience.

4. Post-Graduate Course in Peri-Operative Nursing – 6 months

Specialty course for nurses seeking expertise on how to care for patients pre-operatively, intra-operatively and post-operatively who had at least 6 months of bedside experience.
 

For Allied Health Professionals

 
1. Clinical Nursing Assistant Course– 6 months

(equivalent of Caregiver Course)

2. Dialysis Technology Course – 6 months

Fundamentals and advanced training in the operation and maintenance of dialysis and reprocessing of hemodialysis machines.

3. Surgical Technology Course – 1 year

Hands-on training in surgical techniques, storage, use and maintenance of equipment and supplies at the Operating Room Unit.

4. Health Aide Course – 6 months

Basic course on standard first aide and basic life support useful in both the community and hospital set-ups.

FACILITIES

 

The Department is equipped with top-of-the line audio-visual technology for better appreciation of lectures, discussions and demonstrations. Medical equipment and supplies are readily available for hands-on practice. A library with a wide array of books is available for the student’s reference.
